Eloise Does Thanksgiving

Holy hell it's fall. My maternity leave is slipping away guys and I'm starting to feel really anxious about it. I'm not dreading a little adult interaction but the idea of leaving Eloise in daycare is weighing heavy on my mind to say the least. Why can't a full time job be more like 5 hours a day instead of 8? I mean, REALLY.  I would be just as productive, if not more so, and I sure as hell would be nicer to people. Sigh. Capitalism. Why? We don't value personal time nearly as much as we should.

Anyway, I'm trying not to dwell...I've still got almost 3 months to go and Eloise and I are taking full advantage. We just got back from an extended stay down on the farm for a wedding and then for Thanksgiving. Long stays are definitely the way to go. I basically moved home for a couple weeks and got a real taste/reminder of what country living is all about. As much as I love it down there I was happy to get back to the hustle and bustle of the city which always makes saying goodbye easier. Weekend visits are just too short. I think my parents and brothers got their fill of living with a 10 month old too. I  know for certain no one missed her shrieking this morning... : )

I tried to give Eloise the full fall experience while we were down. I even raked up the small amount of leaves that had fallen so that she could have the obligatory leaf pile picture that every kid seems to have. My Dad gave us a hayride, we hit up the pumpkin patch, picked up some Apple Cider from Williams Orchard, had a fire, fed the birds....the whole bit....it was pretty perfect.

Here are some pictures from our trip...

Chestnut season...
