Inspire Me Thursday

Howdy readers! What a beautiful Thursday we're having!  It's inspiring me to go vintage clothing shopping!  I've also just hit up the farmer's market near work and I'm about to indulge in what I can only imagine is a 400 calorie butter tart!

I need a french market basket...

I haven't been able to find a kimono type sheer cardigan for summer anywhere but I just came across a tutorial to make this and I think I may have found my solution!
This picture screams 80's long weekend doesn't it? My brother and my Dad...his shades have come back into style...I hope he kept them.
I can't wait for next weekend when I can do this...
 make these!
 with these people...

I'd like to take a moment now to honour the one and only cat I've ever loved...Muffin. It's with a heavy heart we say farewell. This old girl has been the mascot of the family farm for the past 14 years touching the lives of many members of my family over her long life.  She spent her days lounging in the sun and accompanying her masters on a variety of past times.  She particularly enjoyed long walks around the property, tanning by the pool, bonfires, and laying in the driveway waiting for visitors.  Her nights were spent guarding the farm from unwanted wildlife and hunting for sport.  She had the instincts of a tiger and preferred flesh to milk and cat food.  She owned Effingham Valley. Her tail was lost in an epic battle many years ago but it didn't phase her. She took it in stride and it only added to her character. We could all learn something from Muffin.  We'll miss her a lot but she will never be forgotten.

Thanks for reading folks!

Inspire Me Thursday

Happy Thursday!  We made it! This week felt like it took forever!  After 4 days of lounging on the farm it was hard to get back to the daily grind...

I'm on a serious hunt for a Kimono type shirt right now... I think I'll check out Chinatown on my way home from work....
But all my inspiration this week has come from my beautiful home town...and the beautiful homes my parents and in-laws keep.  They truly make for a wonderful oasis for James and I to escape to... The company ain't bad either...

hmmm...pie.
Fresh picked rhubarb...

I never appreciated the look of a horizon until I moved to Toronto... It's not often that I can look into the distance and see nothing but field, sky, and trees... It's great until you need something from the store... : )
I spent a lot of time here... It's the best front porch ever...and with the local fruit stand stocked with strawberries I never went hungry...
Yes, that is a double rainbow...the first I've ever seen....
So lush!
Ha! Arnold...
That's all I got for you this week folks... It's been a pretty insane couple months....and I admit the blog has suffered...but I will be back with more posts soon....

Lots of love,
Desiree
