Rosette Love

I F%$%ING heart roses!  I found a tutorial a while back on how to make these suckers and I've been obsessed with them ever since.  I made the royal wedding fascinators, some hair clips, and now I've made a rosette necklace too...  There are so many possibilities and you can use pretty much any material...

A True Craftsman...

My father in law has outdone himself once again...check out this ottoman/side table he made out of a broken chair he found on the side of the road!

I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

My Retro Home Nail Salon...

My mom gave me this cute little 60's Samsonite overnighter suitcase that she found on the farm somewhere... I think it must have been my Nanny's but it doesn't look like it was really used at all.  Sweet score!  I made it into a little home nail salon...

and then I did my nails....with one sparkling finger to shake things up a bit : )

Thrifting: Oh How I've Missed You!

I haven't been Thrifting in a serious while.  I was starting to go into withdrawal!  So I got up super early on Saturday and made my way down to the local Value Village.  It was totally worth the wait too...

Look what I got!

Tea cups of course... (I need enough for a serious tea party coming up this summer, and these ones were just too perfect)

I got the table cloth they're sitting on too, which at first I thought was a curtain, and I'm still not too sure what it's supposed to be...but either way, I love the print!

Another dish to add to my collection...

AND THESE, my favorite find! A dresser set...  They were even in the original box!

Ahhh, now I feel better....

Thanks for reading!

Garden Transformation: Phase One - Planting

Mother Nature finally delivered!  What a beautiful Saturday for some gardening!  I wasn't about to waste a moment of this day, so I got up super early to beat the crowds to the garden centre.  I made a few trips back and forth from the No Frills on Landsdowne and I was ready to get down to some planting.  I cranked up the obligatory long weekend soundtrack...Classic Rock Q107 and got to work.  I really had no idea what to buy so I pretty much just bought what looked pretty and followed the directions on the tags to know where I should plant them.  You should write that piece of advice down eh!?

I spray painted some old pots purple which i think turned out pretty nice...

And of course a little fake flower craft to top things off....

And then it was time for a drink!

Not bad, not bad at all...if i do say so myself!  Now we can watch my garden grow, or hopefully I guess I should say... : )

Thanks for reading, hope you're having a great long weekend..
